Days of Service

AmeriCorps members organize and take part in Days of Service throughout the year. These activities give members the chance to work together with local volunteers and AmeriCorps members from different National Service streams in an attempt to improve their communities.

  • MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service. It is observed each year on the third Monday in January as "a day on, not a day off," in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
