Service for Montana

The Governor’s Office of Community Service, ServeMontana, strives to improve lives and landscapes across the Big Sky State through national service and community volunteerism.

National service through AmeriCorps is voluntary, intensive, and meaningful. Governmental and non-profit organizations at all levels – state, tribal, county, local – receive federal grant funds to host AmeriCorps members. For decades, AmeriCorps, VISTA, and Senior Corps have met the needs of Montanans through direct service, capacity building, and more.

The Montana State Service Plan is a funding requirement of the federal AmeriCorps Agency. Montana is encouraged to consider focus areas of the Agency, the Governor’s priorities, and the greatest local needs facing Montana’s communities.

Why conduct a Community Needs Assessment?

Because we are your neighbors, and we want to serve you best.

Every three years, ServeMontana conducts an anonymous Community Needs Assessment to help identify the most pressing needs of Montana’s communities. Your response to this survey helps us craft the 2022-2024 State Service Plan, which guides the path of service in our state for the next three years.

Who should complete this Assessment?

Everyone.

The more input we receive from Montanans, the better we can align national service and community volunteerism resources to meet those needs. ServeMontana seeks honest input from citizens of all ages, backgrounds, and communities in Montana. Feel free to download and print this poster to share on social media and around your town!

Accessibility

The Community Needs Assessment Survey is compatible with the following screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. There are no non-text elements. See SurveyMonkey’s accessibility page for more information.

ServeMontana is committed to ensuring all Montanans can take this survey; please contact us at serve@mt.gov or (406) 444-9077 if you need any help or would like a printed copy of the assessment.
