The Governor’s Office of Community Service, ServeMontana, strives to improve lives and landscapes across the Big Sky State through national service and community volunteerism.

National service through AmeriCorps is voluntary, intensive, and meaningful. Governmental and non-profit organizations at all levels – state, tribal, county, local – receive federal grant funds to host AmeriCorps members. For decades, AmeriCorps, VISTA, and Senior Corps have met the needs of Montanans through direct service, capacity building, and more.

The Montana State Service Plan is a funding requirement of the federal AmeriCorps Agency. Montana is encouraged to consider focus areas of the Agency, the Governor’s priorities, and the greatest local needs facing Montana’s communities.

The Montana Governor’s Office of Community Service’s 2022- 2024 State Service Plan is a three-year plan that serves as a framework for service and volunteerism in Montana. The State Service Plan is based in State Statute and is a requirement of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The three year plan is effective January 1, 2022 and will determine strategic goals and initiatives of the Commission on Community Service.
