Nominate a Volunteer!

The Governor’s Office of Community Service and the Montana Commission on Community Service are proud to present the ServeMontana Awards and the ReadyMontana Awards. The purpose of these awards is to recognize individuals of all ages and backgrounds who, through their dedication and commitment to community service, have greatly enhanced civic life in Montana.

We invite you to nominate individuals and organizations who:

  • Volunteer in ways that cause a lasting change in people’s lives
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to serving their community
  • Engage in service that greatly benefits others
  • Exhibit leadership in their service
  • Represent determination and perseverance

These awards represent the best in positive community change through service, volunteerism and community leadership.

2013 Nomination Materials


For service and volunteer work in the areas of education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, veterans & military families, and economic opportunity

For service specifically related to disaster services, emergency preparedness, and emergency response


The public is encouraged to nominate individuals of all ages and backgrounds, organizations, and groups. All services must be performed in Montana and individual nominees may not be salaried for the services performed. However, stipend AmeriCorps members are eligible for nomination. Service organizations, nonprofits, and clubs with paid staff are also eligible for nomination.


The Montana Commission on Community Service, a Governor-appointed body dedicated to promoting service in Montana, will select the award winners. Selections will be based on the five qualities above while factoring in geographical diversity and variety of nomination types.


All nominations for the 2013 Awards must be received by December 18, 2012.

The Commission will review nominations in January and the Awards will be presented during the 4th annual ServeMontana Symposium in Helena, February 2013.

Please submit your nomination form and any other materials to ServeMontana, the Governor’s Office of Community Service.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service will contact you confirming receipt of your nomination. If you do not hear from us within 48 hours please call 406-444-9077 to confirm the nomination form arrived. Please note that large pictures need to be sent in separate emails.
