As an AmeriCorps State member you will do hands-on service in places like our schools, public lands and state parks. As an AmeriCorps VISTA you fight poverty and help build community capacity.

AmeriCorps State Programs- hands-on service
Montana State Parks AmeriCorps
Help restore public lands, recruit volunteers, and educate youth about the wonders of our state parks. Montana State Parks is currently recruiting for full-time positions at Lone Pine State Park in Kalispell and Pictograph Cave State Park near Billings. Applications for half-time positions will be accepted starting December 1. These positions are currently listed on the stateparks.mt.gov and are available at Travelers’ Rest State Park in Lolo, Bannack State Park in Dillon, First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park in Ulm, and Giant Springs State Park in Great Falls.
Montana Conservation Corps
Join the Montana Conservation Corps to build trails, restore watersheds, lead youth crews, and help preserve our great outdoors. Crew Leaders and Youth Crew Leaders start February 11, Corps Members start May 20, Vet Crews start May 30 and August 14, and Big Sky Watershed Corps members start January 7. FoodCorps is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy. Motivated leaders are placed in limited-resource communities for a year of public service. Working under the direction of local partner organizations, AmeriCorps members implement a three-ingredient recipe for healthy kids. They teach kids about what healthy food is and where it comes from; build and tend school gardens; and bring high-quality local food into public school cafeterias. New positions start August 2013. AmeriCorps VISTA programs start January 23 with a pre-service orientation
Prevention Resource Center
Serve as a Prevention Resource Center VISTA to help keep Montana children, communities and families strong and resilient against risks such as unintended and unhealthy pregnancies, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, crime and violence, and high school drop-outs. Montana Legal Services Association
Help protect and enhance the civil legal rights of, and promote systemic change for, Montanans living in poverty as a VISTA with the Montana Legal Services Association. Serve in one of three areas: asset development, domestic violence or poverty law. Learn more and find open positions at www.mlsavista.org.
Billings Metro VISTA Project
Create or expand community-based programs, services, and systems that prevent and intervene in homelessness with the Billings METRO VISTA project. Montana Campus Compact
The goal of Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) is to leverage the resources of higher education to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility. AmeriCorps VISTA members serving with MTCC address local poverty problems related to education, including school performance, college access, and veteran engagement. Service placements include college and university campuses, community based organizations, nonprofits, K-12 schools, and faith-based organizations. Communities in Action

AmeriCorps NCCC- travel with a team
The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) strengthens communities and develops leaders through team-based national and community service. The AmeriCorps NCCC Pacific Region Campus is based in Sacramento, California and serves Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Wyoming, Montana, Hawaii, Alaska, Idaho, Utah, and the Pacific Territories. NCCC engages teams of 9-12 members in 3-9 week service projects that address critical needs related to natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, & urban and rural development.
