AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a 10-month, full-time, team-based residential program for men and women ages 18 to 24 years of age who want to get ahead and leave their mark on society. NCCC is an AmeriCorps program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that improves lives, strengthens communities, and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering. NCCC teams serve in Montana out of the NCCC Pacific Region Campus located in Sacramento, CA.

Current teams serving Montana

We are pleased to welcome three AmeriCorps NCCC teams to Montana this month!

Team “Blue 2” is serving in Miles City from 6/3/13 to 6/29/13. Members are removing Russian Olive trees to improve floodplains and are making infrastructure improvements to the parks and fairgrounds.

Team “Gold 3” is serving with the Montana Heritage Preservation and Development Commission in Virginia City from 6/3/13 to 7/12/13. Members are helping maintain the grounds, buildings, and trails around the historic Montana town.

Team “Gold 4” is serving with Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Montana in Butte from 6/3/13 to 7/12/13. Members are constructing new homes, renovating existing housing, and managing volunteers.

Apply to host an AmeriCorps NCCC team!

NCCCApplications are now being accepted for projects taking place between November 2013 and July 2014. Nonprofits, faith-based organizations, government entities, schools, and tribal councils are all eligible to apply for projects that last between 2 and 8 weeks. Appropriate projects include: disaster preparation or recovery; veterans and military family support; volunteer generation projects; energy conservation work; infrastructure improvements; and environmental conservation efforts.

Steps to applying for an Americorps NCCC team:

  1. Contact Deanne Reeves, phone (916) 640-0317, in the Pacific Region Campus to learn about the application process.
  2. Submit a project concept form at least one month before the application deadline.
  3. After you’ve received approval on the concept form, submit a full Service Project Application.

Informational Conference Calls

Join an upcoming informational conference call about AmeriCorps NCCC. Calls will cover the the basics of the program, a little info about members, what is expected of sponsors, and answer any questions!

  • Tuesday, June 25th at 9:00am Pacific Time
  • Thursday, June 27th at 1pm Pacific Time

The call will take approximately 30 minutes with time after for questions.
