Governor Steve Bullock and First Lady Lisa Bullock convene the Youth Leadership Council to engage youth in service projects intended to address the issue of childhood hunger. Past projects have included “Fill the Freezer” campaigns, food and fundraising drives, educational programs, and mobile applications. Young people are uniquely situated to help their peers and those in their community who are struggling with hunger. The Youth Leadership Council is for students from 7th-12th grade and a successful candidate is someone who is dedicated to serving their community and a leader among their peers. By joining the Youth Leadership Council, you recieve leadership training, gain service experience, and help to improve your community.
Students who are selected to be on the Council are required to come to Helena to attend an orientation on November 30th. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and hotel rooms will be arranged for those travelling long distances, but Council members are required to arrange travel to and from Helena.
