2016 AmeriCorps Formula Funding

AmeriCorps grants are available to eligible organizations focused on solving Montana’s most pressing needs. Grant applicants design service activities for AmeriCorps members serving full- or part-time for one year or during the summer. Eligible organizations that are selected for funding implement National Service programs that utilize AmeriCorps members to impact and solve community problems through an evidence-based approach.

AmeriCorps*State Formula grants provide resources and assistance to programs to recruit, train, and supervise AmeriCorps members meeting critical community needs in the areas of Education, Disaster Services, Health, Environmental Stewardship, Economic Opportunity, and service to Veterans and Military Families. AmeriCorps State Formula grants are also intended to meet Montana’s needs identified in the Montana State Service Plan.

AmeriCorps*State Planning grants provide resources and assistance to organizations to plan for a program grant, and do NOT provide AmeriCorps members. Funds may be available to new applicants to increase AmeriCorps programs statewide by applying for a planning grant. Planning grants provide initial funding to support current staff or hire additional staff who can plan the proposed AmeriCorps program, negotiate collaborations with partners, develop meaningful performance measures and develop systems for successful implementation of the AmeriCorps operational grant application that is submitted for the following grant year. This funding will be available to be granted for ONE YEAR only. There is no guarantee that allocations will be available to fund future years although ServeMontana expects that organizations receiving planning grants will apply for an AmeriCorps operational grant for the 2017-2018 grant year.

*Technical Assistance Applicants are encouraged to use this opportunity to ask clarifying questions, obtain a better understanding of the RFP process, the project, and to notify the State of any ambiguities, inconsistencies, or errors discovered upon examination of this RFP. All questions and written responses will be posted publically on the ServeMontana website at http://serve.mt.gov/funding/. Participation in the technical assistance period is optional, however, it is advisable that all interested parties participate.
