The mission of Montana Campus Corps is to actively engage college students in meeting community-identified needs through meaningful service. Each year, this AmeriCorps program places students from MTCC member institutions with community agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, and healthcare facilities to address Montana’s most challenging problems. Campus Corps members serve in the fields of education, human services, public health and safety, the environment, and homeland security, and are helping to improve our state while gaining valuable connections and skills, and insight into communities and careers in the common good. JMGF’s Young Adult Service Corps (YASC) engages young adults (ages 17-24) in their schools and in communities across Montana!  Students dedicated to volunteer service or addressing a local community need through school or community based service are eligible to join this AmeriCorps program. YASC provides an excellent opportunity for young adults to develop leadership confidence, transferable workplace skills, build their resumes and college applications, all while earning a $1,000 Education Award for giving back to their communities!  Learn more >>

The link between successful families, successful schools, and successful communities. A Family Resource Center is a place in a school that is set aside for the purpose of making the school accessible to families and encouraging adult involvement in children’s education. Today, Family Resource Centers are a collaborative partnership between WORD, community agencies, and school districts throughout western Montana. The Literacy Support Corps is an AmeriCorps program of WORD that provides members to staff Family Resource Centers. Learn more >>

The Montana Legal Services Association (MLSA) is a federally and privately funded program that provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low-income people. Our mission is to protect and enhance the civil legal rights of, and promote systemic change for, Montanans living in poverty. To qualify for our services, applicants generally must have income of 125% or less of the federal poverty level and limited assets. You must also be a U.S. citizen or an eligible alien. We never charge a fee for our services. However, you may have to pay court costs and filing fees. Learn More >>

National Center for Appropriate Technology

The Montana Energy Corps AmeriCorps project is a project of the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) that was created to address unmet community energy needs by promoting sustainable energy consumption and education, fostering community sustainability and helping to mitigate the effects of global climate change. Energy Corps members are placed in host organizations in communities throughout the state of Montana to implement solutions for sustainable energy consumption. Learn more >>

Prevention Resource Center

The Prevention Resource Center VISTA Project connects Montana communities, the Interagency Coordinating Council for State Prevention Programs, and the Americorps*Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) throughout the state of Montana. It strives to keep Montana children, communities and families strong and resilient against risks such as unintended and unhealthy pregnancies, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, crime and violence, and high school drop-outs. The VISTA Project works proactively in order to create and sustain conditions that reduce risk, as well as promote the safety, personal resonsibility and well-being of all. Montana Campus Compact

The Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) AmeriCorps*VISTA program, referred to as MTCC VISTA, is a statewide National Service program that connects campus resources with critical community needs. MTCC AmeriCorps*VISTAs serve from Montana college campuses and in partnership with community-based organizations, nonprofits, schools, and faith-based organizations. Billings Metro Vista Project

The City of Billings has formed an AmeriCorps VISTA Project known as Billings Metro VISTA Project (MVP). AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) members will work with passion and commitment to mobilize local resources and give people in poverty the tools they need to help themselves. Montana Legal Services Association

AmeriCorps*VISTA builds permanent infrastructure and capacity in non-profit organizations and communities.  The Montana Legal Services Association (MLSA) VISTA project is no exception.  MLSA VISTA members serve for a year to help bring individuals and communities out of the cycle of poverty.  Since the establishment of Volunteers In Service To America in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, VISTA members have actively served in low-income communities by mobilizing people, businesses, non-profits and organizations with the goal of creating sustainable change in communities.
